Okiden C Plus C (“C plusc C”), which is the joint venture between the Okinawa Electric Power group, Japan Integration Co., Ltd., and Inspire Corporation exhibited at the Digital Transformation exhibition, ResorTech EXPO 2022 in Okinawa (“ResorTech”) held at the Okinawa Convention Center on November 17, 2022 and 18th. C Plus C was awarded the Grand Prize in the exhibition category for “Mimamori (caring family monitor) system for the elderly” at the ResorTech EXPO AWARD 2022 (“The Award”) ceremony in ResorTech.

ResorTech is one of the largest IT/Digital Transformation exhibitions in Okinawa, and its objectives include promoting digital transformation in Okinawa by creating collaborations and co-creation through business matching.
The award is given to those exhibiting at the exhibitions that are highly innovative from an academic and technical point of view, as well as from a marketability and future perspective. C Plus C’s remote support system for elderly people applies the world’s most advanced Wi-Fi sensing technology without using cameras or microphones. It was selected from a list of 77 other ResorTech exhibitors in recognition of the fact that it is a useful solution for Okinawa, which comprised of several islands, as well as the fact that it is expected to be widely needed outside the prefecture, and that it is precisely ResorTech’s approach to the world in which the lives of Japanese people are enriched by IT and Digital Transformation.

As the population of Okinawa and all of Japan continues to age, C plus C proposes a “community-centered approach” in which families and communities collaborate to care for the elderly people living apart, using the world’s most advanced Wi-Fi sensing technology with AI. C plus C has already signed agreements with 12 municipalities in Okinawa and is conducting a large-scale pilot project covering the areas where more than 60% of the elderly households are living alone.

The award of the Grand Prize in the ResorTech Exhibition category is a great achievement for C plus C, which will continue its pilot project with the Cabinet Office, Okinawa Prefecture and the municipalities, and will continue to move forward as a milestone in providing a social system that will expand from Okinawa to the rest of Japan and the world.
